• Account: email address and password (via Firebase Authentication)
• Profile: display name, partner's name, avatar emoji, household composition
• Assessment data: your answers to mental-load questionnaires and weekly check-ins
• Partner invitation: your partner's email address for account linking

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera or microphone access, health data, or payment information.

2. How we use your data

• Create and authenticate your account
• Store and display your assessment results
• Compare your responses with your partner's to identify perception gaps
• Send weekly summary emails
• Improve the app using anonymised usage patterns

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only:

• With your partner within the app (for load comparison)
• With Google Firebase for storage and authentication
• When required by law

4. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

5. Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). We use Firebase security rules, do not store passwords in plain text, and follow industry-standard security practices.

6. Children's privacy

Balance is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You may also withdraw consent for data processing. Contact us at the address below.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of Balance after changes constitutes acceptance.
